The HDLC
Established in 1976, the Historic District Landmarks Commission (HDLC) (link to website) is the City’s regulatory agency for local historic districts—outside of the French Quarter or Vieux Carré, which is governed by the Vieux Carré Commission (est. 1936).

Commissioners
The Commissioners of the HDLC and the Architectural Review Committee are appointed by the Mayor for a term of four years. They do not have city-issued email addresses.

Commissioners for Esplanade Ridge; Garden District; Lower Garden District; and Treme.
Carrollton Historic District
Carrollton Historic District—This document describes the boundaries and primary features of the Carrollton partial-control district, designated in 2017. South Carrollton Avenue is a full-control district. The Commissioner for Carrollton is Annie Irvin.
